Since wrapping the thriller Wanted in mid-September, Angelina Jolie has stepped seamlessly into the roles of supportive girlfriend and loving mom. But there’s another side to Angie, a darker side she reminded the world of in a shocking interview in the October issue of Cosmopolitan U.K. “I’ve done just about every drug possible — coke, heroin, Ecstasy.”
The casualness with which Angie, 32, spoke about her history of drug abuse surprised Brad Pitt, 43, says a Pitt family insider. “He’s distressed that Angie talks about her drug use as if it were cool and there’s nothing wrong with it,” the family insider says.
Meanwhile, on Sept. 19, two days after a Los Angeles judge ordered Britney Spears to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week in order to keep custody of her babies, Britney’s estranged mother, Lynne Spears, got an unsettling telephone call. “It was one of Britney’s friends saying he’d seen Brit take four Ecstasy pills in the bedroom of a Hollywood Hills home during a party on Aug. 11,” an insider reveals to Life & Style. “Lynne was also told that Brit’s done the drug more recently — and she’s taken Ativan, an antianxiety medication, to help her come down because the Ecstasy was so intense.”
Now, insiders says, Britney must make a choice: She can either get help or continue down this path — and lose custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to ex Kevin Federline forever. “Britney needs to go to rehab,” says another Brit insider. “It’s the only chance she has to save her sons.”
