And the winner is. . .Hugh Jackman! The 40-year-old Australian star — and Australia star — will host the Oscars on Feb, 22, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced today.

The choice of Jackman is a change of pace for the Oscars, which for the past 20 years have been hosted by the likes of Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Jon Stewart — but Jackman has hosted Broadway's Tony awards in NYC three times.
