Does Jessica Simpson care that some mean people have been saying mean things about her new curvier self? No, judging from the way the star reacted last night at the University of Virginia's John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., where she opened for country band Rascal Flatts.

Although Jessica, flaunting her figure in skintight black leather pants, didn't address the public chatter directly, she did drop a strong hint about what she thinks about the whole mini-controversy.

"Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder," she told her audience. "So just appreciate. I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless."

Like a certain blond singer's measurements, perhaps?
