
The Oscar nominatons are in, and it looks like a death match between The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which got 13 nominations — including best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay — and Slumdog Millionaire, which got 10 nods, including Best Picture. Also in the race for Best Picture are Frost/Nixon, Milk, and The Reader.
Best Actor nods went to Brad Pitt (Benjamin Button), Sean Penn (Milk), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), The Visitor's Richard Jenkins and Frost/Nixon's Frank Langella.
Meryl Streep (Doubt), Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married), Angelina Jolie (Changeling), Melissa Leo (Frozen River) and Kate Winslet (The Reader) were nominated for Best Actress
The late Heath Ledger was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. Also nominated: Josh Brolin in Milk; Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder; Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt; and Michael Shannon for Revolutionary Road.
Best Supporting Actress nominees are Amy Adams in Doubt; Penélope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona; Viola Davis in Doubt; Taraji P. Henson in Benjamin Button and Marisa Tomei in The Wrestler.
This year's Oscars will air on Sunday, Feb. 22, on ABC.
