Black Eyed Peas members are rallying around their bandmate Apl.de.ap, 34, after his brother Joven Pineda Deala, 21, was shot in the head and killed in the Philippines on Tuesday.
"It's really tough. It's the second brother that he's lost," Black Eyed Peas member Taboo (above, right) told Life & Style before the band performed at the 5th Annual Peapod Foundation Benefit concert on Feb. 5. Apl.de.ap previously lost his brother Arnel to suicide. "It's a serious time for us, but we have to go into Black Eyed Peas mode and that's hard for us because our brother is so down. We're sending out our love to his family," Taboo added.
While Apl.de.ap performed with the band at the benefit show, Taboo confirmed that his band mate will be taking some time off. "He won't perform at the Grammy Awards," he told Life & Style.
