"There are a lot of '50s-style Christian Dior-type ball gowns now," says Fenoli. "There's a return to a natural waistline with detailing on the bodice and voluminous skirts. Brides seem to want to look like Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn." For a cohesive look,
opt for accessories with a retro vibe.

Embroidery and Lace

For a timeless, romantic feel, nothing works like lace and embroidered fabrics. Lace has
"a timeless" quality, says Fenoli. And the hand-stitching makes embroidery seem vintage too. Accessories with intricate detailing add to the antique flair. Or basic add-ons give a modern twist.

Bling

Thanks to layered necklaces and stacked bangles, Heidi Montag proved that bridal bling can be glam. "Look for beading and crystal-encrusted designs at the waist and neckline," says Fenoli. Be sure to also wear sparkle -- like earrings or a jeweled hair clip -- by your face to offset the dress' glitter.

Light and Airy

Designs are using lots of light, retro fabrics like tulle, chiffon and organza," Fenoli says about dresses like Rhea Durham's chiffon Marchesa. These are perfect for destination weddings, which call for gowns made of "packable" materials. Pair with loose, undone tresses and delicate, barely there accessories that mirror the feel of the dress.
