Reality TV's most infamous husband and wife, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, have always done what it takes to grab their share of the spotlight. But the couples recent influence from spiritual adviser Aiden Chase has those close to the couple concerned. "No one can talk any sense into them," an insider close to the couple tells Life & Style. "This guy is feeding them spiritual guidance, and it's all they're living their lives by now." According to the insider, Chase has persuaded Spencer to put money into various projects. "He has Spencer investing in an ecolodge for his followers," the insider says. "They're just throwing all their money away. It's so sad."

Life & Style recently spoke with Chase, who has replaced Spencer has Heidi's manager, about his work with the couple. "I'd love if everybody understood the beauty that comes out of my work and that I have only the highest intentions," he tells Life & Style. "They want to do good things for the world. They're kind, and they want to have projects that make a difference. When they said that, I thought, Okay, I'm on board with that."

But family members are convinced it's Chase's influence that has caused Heidi and Spencer to cut off ties with their loved ones. Both Spencer's sister, Stephanie, and Heidi's father, Bill Montag, confirmed to Life & Style that they haven't spoken to the couple in weeks. "I don't have any contact with my brother at this moment," Stephanie tells Life & Style. Chase denies that he's brainwashing Heidi and Spencer, saying, "They're the strongest people mentally that I have come across. They have their own mind-set and their own opinions, and nobody is ever going to change that."
