Paris Hilton: I thought I'd be married by now

Paris-Hilton_B6ED5182FC5.jpgParis Hilton seems like she has it all: fame, fortune, looks, stardom and, until recently, a devoted man ready to settle down with her for life. But when the World According to Paris star recently opened up to Life & Style in her Beverly Hills home, she confessed that her life has taken a far different -- and more difficult -- emotional path than she'd imagined. "When I was a little girl, I always imagined I'd be married with kids by now," Paris confides. "It's not where I thought I'd be. I'm 30, and I'm by myself."

Over the course of her most recent, 18 month relationship with event promoter Cy Waits, during which the couple taped Paris' new reality show, the star realized he wasn't the one. "By watching the show, I got an outside perspective of our relationship," she shares with Life & Style. Watching scenes in which she'd thought Cy might propose -- or more seriously, in which she was faced with a pregnancy scare -- were particularly wrenching. "I realized that yes, I love him and he's one of my best friends, but I needed to make sure he was the one," Paris admits. "When I realized I wasn't certain, I knew I had to end it."

Although Paris admits, "I regret putting so much of my relationship with Cy on the series," it's been a true wakeup call and put her future goals in perspective. "I want to be married and pregnant in two to five years," shares Paris, "But first I have to work through my trust issues."

But all may not be lost in love for Paris. The socialite was recently spotted getting cozy with Hangover director Todd Phillips.
