Life & Style exclusive: Mel B's first U.S. interview on her partnership with Jenny Craig

Mel-B-11aa.jpgAfter giving birth to daughter Madison last month, Melanie "Mel B" Brown was eager to lose those extra pregnancy pounds, and what better way than partnering with the weight-loss company Jenny Craig!

Mel, who's following in Valerie Bertinelli's footsteps as the new face of the brand, admits she didn't obsess about her body while pregnant and ended up gaining 50 pounds.

"When I get pregnant, I don't work out and I don't watch what I eat," she tells Life & Style in her first U.S. interview about the partnership.

So why Jenny? Due back on X Factor Australia, Mel was drawn to the program and its realistic approach to weight loss to help her tone up fast. "I like the way they work," the former Spice Girl tells Life & Style. "Jenny lets you eat things you like but works with you on portion control and what's in it."

In addition to the program, Mel swears by Real Water to keep her hydrated and help her tackle her workouts. "I love the taste -- it's so pure," she says. "It's the only water I drink now. It makes me feel good and healthy."

Mel has even set her ultimate weight-loss goal! "I think it would be nice to get back to the weight I was when I did Dancing With the Stars," she dishes to Life & Style. Weight loss is never easy, but Mel credits her supportive hubby, Stephen Belafonte, for encouraging her along the way. "He's great about that. He calls me curvalicious!"
