Tara Reid was hiding a big secret about her Aug. 13 wedding to Zack Kehayov in Greece until she confessed last week that the marriage wasn't real. "We were never really married," the 36-year-old actress said.
Now a close associate of Tara's tells Life & Style exclusively that the actress believes Zack was only interested in marrying her to attain citizenship in the United States.
"It wasn't legal," the associate of Tara's exclusively confirms to Life & Style. "They knew they'd need to renew their vows back in the U.S. to make it legal." But it never happened. "Zack was all over Tara to redo the marriage, but she wanted to take her time.
Zack told Tara "he was some sort of wealthy playboy -- but he's not. Now Tara thinks Zack may have only married her for a green card."
On Aug. 13, Tara announced her engagement and marriage all in the same day on Twitter. "I just got engaged!" she tweeted. Just a few hours later, she wrote, "Greece married!" "Love in Greece...I am now a wife :)" and "Just got married in Greece. I love being a wife!"
Before meeting Zack, Tara famously dated and was engaged to late-night host Carson Daly before calling off the engagement in June 2001. She was then engaged to boyfriend Michael Axtmann, an Internet entrepreneur, in January 2010, but called off the engagement just three months later.
