When Bachelorette star Desiree Hartsock accepted winner Chris Siegfried's proposal, the pair started to hear wedding bells — but host Chris Harrison says he doubts the couple will ever say "I do."
E! News interviewed Chris, and when they asked him if Des and Chris will ever get married, he responded, “I mean, let's be honest. What are the odds? Most relationships don't make it down the aisle. They just don't."
“We've been on a good run lately with Ashley [Hebert] and J.P. [Rosenbaum] and I'm fully convinced Sean [Lowe] and Catherine [Giudici] are going to get married soon,” he continued. “But married? I don't know. The odds are no, but you never know.”
The host’s hesitation doesn’t come unprecedented. In the show's second-to-last episode, viewers were shocked when Brooks Foster — who Des was head over heels for — decided to leave the show.
“I have to tell you, when I saw what happened with Brooks, I was just as skeptical as everyone else,” Chris shared.
Even with the twist, it seems that all worked out in the end. “It was a perfect storm I guess because any other man may have folded under jealousy or the pressure but [Chris is] not that man,” the TV host explained. “It kind of empowered him I think to stand by her and that's true love I guess.”
And it seems that Des would agree. “Chris is the man I could love my entire life,” she gushed on the finale. “Chris was always there and I always was falling in love with him.”
