Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence together again — and we can hardly contain our excitement!
E! News confirms that Boy Meets World’s Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who played sweethearts Cory and Topanga on the show, have officially signed on star in Disney Channel’s sequel, Girl Meets World.
“We can confirm that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will reprise their hugely popular roles of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, this time as a happily married couple and parents to 13-year-old Riley, from whose point of view the story is told,” a Disney Channel rep says. “The pilot is still in the very early stages of development with creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs, Emmy Award-winning creator/producer behind Boy Meets World, My Two Dads and Charles In Charge, among others. A nationwide casting search is underway for the starring role of Riley Matthews."

“I’m going to be a father! Well, on TV at least. The ‘Boy Meets World’ sequel is officially happening!” Ben, 32, tweeted.
Danielle, 31, took to her Tumblr page, saying, “First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome. That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring. You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE.”
As for the rest of the original cast, it’s up in the air if anyone else will return. “I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear,” Danielle says.
But if there’s something to look forward to, it’s that the show is set on not disappointing BMW fans.
Continues Danielle, “I promise with the entirety of my heart that we will make GMW with the same honesty, innocence, and intelligence that you learned to expect from BMW.”
We can’t wait to see who they choose to play little Riley!
