Sean Lowe was devastated in 2012 when he was sent home from The Bachelorette by Emily Maynard.
“I really laid my heart out there,” he tells Life & Style in an exclusive sit-down interview and photo shoot in this week’s issue. But after some sleepless nights, Sean’s broken heart slowly began to heal, and he accepted ABC’s offer to star on this season of The Bachelor.
NEWS: Will Sean Lowe break The Bachelor curse?
“I want to find the love of my life,” Sean, 29, tells Life & Style. “I owed it to myself to give it a try.”
Once he met the 26 contestants — “smart, well-accomplished, funny” — he became convinced one of them could be his wife. Though he’s not allowed to discuss the outcome, Sean confesses to Life & Style that he found himself developing feelings for more than one woman.
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Bachelor Sean Lowe on Emily Maynard: "She broke my heart"
“As the season progresses I get to a point where I think, Wow, I’ve got so many wonderful women, I don’t know what I’m going to do,” he admits. “There were certain points in the season where I couldn’t follow the rules. I had to follow my heart.”
So as the champagne flowed and the hot tub beckoned, he had to stop and remind himself what he was looking for in a future bride. “I really wanted to find my best friend, someone I can really see myself spending every day with and just enjoying being with her and being her partner for life,” Sean shares.
