2012 was definitely the year of love!
So many A-listers married in luxe (and top secret) weddings and we’re here to share our top 15.
From Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds pulling off their southern Sept. 9 nuptials without anyone knowing to Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel keeping their European location a secret from their guests until their Oct. 19 date, celeb weddings were all the rage!
As Life & Style first reported in October, Justin and Jessica were set to marry in southern Italy.
“The wedding was top-secret, hush-hush,” a close friend of the couple tells Life & Style. “Save-the-dates went out in the spring and little information was given. Guests were warned that any phones or cameras would be confiscated, so best to leave them at the hotel.”
When Blake and Ryan, who dated for almost a year, tied the knot in Charleston, S.C. in September, it took the world by surprise! A month after they said “I do,” Life & Style caught up with their wedding planner, Tara Guérard, who revealed how the couple were able to keep it all a secret.
"She chose [Charleston] because we could keep it secret, quiet and a private affair for her,” Guérard says, adding, the gorgeous duo even asked wedding planners and editors from Martha Stewart Weddings, who helped plan the wedding, refer to them by secret code names.
But they’re not the only lovebirds who exchanged vows over the past 12 months. We had exclusive details from Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza’s Dec. 1 Mexico destination wedding and the first photo of CaCee Cobb and maid of honor Jessica Simpson from CaCee’s nuptials with actor Donald Faison.
Plus, with Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman becoming hubby and wife in September, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves tying the knot in Austin during their three-day wedding in June, and Leonardo DiCaprio giving away Titanic co-star Kate Winslet earlier this month, it’s safe to say Hollywood's biggest trend this year was saying “I do.”
