Sometimes it's not what you know; it's who you know!
Following his Dancing With the Stars: All Stars debut last night, Joey Fatone tells Life & Style he's going to reach out to his former ’N Sync bandmate Justin Timberlake — who has nearly 14 million Twitter followers – for votes.
“I think I need to call him up right now and be like, 'Dude, I need a favor. Tell everyone to vote for me!'” says Joey, who scored a 20.5 with partner Kym Johnson for their cha-cha last night.
And Justin's not the only 'N Syncer that Joey’s contacting.
“I’ll get Justin, Lance [Bass] and Chris [Kirkpatrick] — all the guys — and we'll form an ’N Sync voting system,” Joey adds.
Perhaps he’s following in the footsteps of another All-Star, Drew Lachey, whose brother Nick Lachey is supporting him.
“I told [Drew] that’s BS right there because you're trying to get votes because your brother is more famous than you are,” Joey tells Life & Style.
But even Drew agrees that Joey should give his pal Justin a call.
“Go for it. If he needs to rely on Justin to actually get some votes, then bring it on, Joey!” Drew says to Life & Style. “Bring it on! It's all good.”
Though the two competed in rival boy bands (Drew in 98 Degrees) in the late '90s and early '00s, they’re nothing but supportive of each other this time around, Joey says.
“I’ve known Drew since 1998 or 1999, and we've been friends ever since, so we have a fun banter about busting chops, and it's like whatever happens,” Joey says. “Everyone is pulling for everyone. It's genuine.”
