The New York Times reports that Random House will pay the Girls creator and star more than $3.5 million to publish her collection of essays, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s Learned.

I'm "thrilled to be working with and learning from the brilliant minds at Random House and to be among their incredible roster of authors,” the New York Times quotes Lena as saying.

As of late last week, reports claimed five publishers were trying to snatch up Lena's first book. The 26-year-old started the bidding war after she circulated a 66-page proposal for the soon-to-be book.

Random House describes the book as offering "frank and funny advice on everything from sex to eating to traveling to work."

2012 is proving to be quite the year for Lena: Along with her new book deal, back in April HBO renewed Girls for a second season of 10 episodes.
