After bringing most of the audience to tears – including judge Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek himself — the duo received a perfect score (30) for their flawless freestyle performance to Labrinth and Emeli Sandé’s “Beneath Your Beautiful.”
And Kellie’s night got only better when her husband, Kyle Jacobs, surprised her with something very special — a puppy!
“He was carrying this little bag. He opens it and there’s this little Maltese in there!” she tells Life & Style.

And it’s exactly what she wanted! “I was at a charity event a few weeks ago and there was a puppy there that I had to take out on stage that we were offering for the event,” she explains. “I was looking at my husband like ‘you better raise that paddle! You better raise your hand. I want this puppy!’”
As for her stellar performance, Kellie tells Life & Style, “There were no walls. I went out there and thought I’m just going to be me. Hopefully, people like it and if they don’t, there’s nothing I can do about it. I lost myself in the dance. I felt like for the first time I lost myself. I know I sound crazy, but there was such a freedom that came over me.”
Each of the remaining couples — Kellie and Derek, Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy, Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff, Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas — danced three dances last night: a judges’ choice, cha-cha-cha relay and a super-sized freestyle.
Derek, who tells Life & Style he’s not sure if he’ll return next weekend, says it doesn’t matter if they win or lose tonight.
“If we don’t win or whatever happens, no one can take that [dance] away from us. No one can take that moment away from us,” he confides to Life & Style. “This has been an incredible season. We did some fun stuff. That’s forever.”
