Kirstie Alley is standing up for Lady Gaga.

The Dancing With the Stars All-Star — who’s no stranger to body criticism — commended the singer for embracing her recent weight gain, being open about her battle with eating disorders and wanting to start a “body revolution.”

“I say more power to her!” Kirstie, 61, told Life & Style following the Sept. 25 elimination episode of DWTS: All-Stars. “She is a such a role model for millions and bajillions of girls in the world, and she should be whatever weight she wants to be! Nobody should have to starve themselves."

Kirstie thinks it’s easier for stars to surrender to social pressure to lose weight, especially someone in such a high-profile position like Gaga.

“Sometimes when you come out of a shoot, you have an image and you’re skinny and you’re all [the] fashion,” Kirstie said. “You're wearing all these fashions, and you become an icon because you’re a stick. And what did she gain — 30 pounds? Who cares!

Since revealing she’s gained 25 pounds, Gaga has been facing harsh criticism and has taken to Twitter to express her emotions.

The 26-year-old has also admitted how she feels about her weight gain, saying,  “I really don’t feel bad about it,  not even for a second.”
