Lindsay Lohan's latest stint in rehab seems to have been exactly what the star needed to get her life back on track.
Life & Style chatted with her The Canyons co-star Nolan Gerard Funk, who still speaks to LiLo, and he told the mag that the actress is doing great after leaving treatment on July 31.
"She seems really positive! She's excited and happy," he said at the film's Hollywood premiere on Tuesday. "I was supposed to do Chelsea Lately with her, but I was in New York doing morning shows. I thought she did great on that."
And he thinks it was a good decision for Lindsay to enter the Betty Ford Clinic, followed by Cliffside Malibu.
"I think that we can always use more work on ourselves, so if that's something that she needed, I think it's great," he told Life & Style. "It obviously was the right time because she's doing so well now."
Though the Mean Girls actress couldn't attend this premiere, she'll promote the film at the Venice Film Festival later this month.
"She seems to be in a really good mindset," adds Nolan. "She's excited about Venice."
The flick, which was written by Bret Easton Ellis and directed by Paul Schrader, stars Lindsay opposite porn star James Deen. The pair play a couple who are thrust into a violent, sexual relationship after James' movie producer character finds out his girlfriend (Lindsay) is cheating on him with his film's lead actor, played by Nolan.
So how was it working with Ms. Lohan?
"She surprised me. I think you've definitely got to earn her trust and respect. We got along great," Nolan shared. "We had really good chemistry. It was a fun experience. I want to work with her again."
