Nicole Kidman has opened up about her relationship with Keith Urban — and the star gets quite candid about her hubby!
"He just gave me confidence, through just being very kind to me and understanding me, opening me up to trying things, my sexuality, those sorts of things," Nicole, who shares two daughters, Sunday, 4, and Faith, 1, with Keith, reveals in the November issue Harper's Bazaar.
The Paperboy actress, 45, also reveals what may have drawn her to the country star, 44, admitting, "a bigger, strong personality" is what she's attracted to.
"I need protection," she adds. "Everyone wants to feel someone's got their back."
Nicole touched upon the subject of her marriage to Tom Cruise, with whom she split in 2001 after more than 10 years of marriage and shares custody of their adopted daughter, Isabella, and son, Connor, saying she was much more reserved during that time.
"In those early years, it was like, 'I'm here and I'm clutching onto your arm, and it all feels a little overwhelming and really strange," she says. "And I was shy. Deeply shy. I didn't feel comfortable at all. But I felt very comfortable at home."
Last week, the star revealed that despite reports, she did not reach out to Tom's ex-wife Katie Holmes, following their divorce, stating, "I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that."
