She’s Done It Again! Taylor Swift Fans and Celebs React to ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

Musician and gal pal Gracie posted the album cover of TTPD via Spotify on her Instagram Stories, tagging Taylor and collaborator Aaron Dessner, accompanying the supportive message with a black heart emoji.

The TTPD collaborator took to Instagram shortly after the double album anthology dropped, praising Taylor for her songwriting mastery.

“We started working on these songs over two years ago and it feels like they have kept us company and evolved in beautiful and unexpected ways through so much life lived during this process,” Aaron wrote. “I am forever grateful to Taylor for sharing her insane talents with and trusting me with her music. I believe these songs are some of the most lyrically acute, intricate, vulnerable and cathartic Taylor has ever written and I am continually astonished by her skills as a songwriter and performer.”

Rick Ross

The acclaimed rapper took to X to sing Taylor’s praises, calling out two of his favorite tracks from TTPD, “Fresh Out The Slammer” and “Florida!!!”

“Taylor writes like a Boss and her song titles are Gangsta,” Rick wrote.

Brittany Mahomes

Brittany and Taylor became inseparable during the 2023-2024 football season, as Brittany’s husband, Patrick Mahomes, is the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback. The two ladies cheered for their guys throughout the season together, and amid TTPD’s release, Brittany took to her Instagram Stories to cheer on her pal.

“Let’s goooooo,” Brittany wrote alongside a repost of Taylor’s album release post, accompanying her message with clapping emojis.

Invisible Strings

One Swiftie simply stated that they needed “time” after drawing a connection between Taylor’s song “invisible string” from her 2020 Folklore album and the TTPD song “loml.”

Jack Antonoff

Taylor’s best friend and cowriter Jack Antonoff showed love for the pop star on X, writing, “Love this album more than i can say …. love you all very much … more later very overwhelmed … love you Taylor.”

Dave Portnoy

Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy gushed about Taylor in his own tweet after hearing the album. “I love all the hardos who trash Taylor Swift but then c-m on rap battles and dis tracks. Taylor is arguably the greatest singer/songwriter diss track writer ever. You don’t have to love her but if you don’t respect her otherworldly talent you are a hater,” he wrote.

Can’t Recover

Another fan used an old Tayor tweet to joke that they were “never recovering from this” after the pop star made a surprise drop of 15 additional songs at 2 a.m. following TTPD’s initial release.

Keleigh Teller

Taylor’s close pal Keleigh Teller seemingly threw shade at Taylor’s ex Joe Alwyn, who is believed to be the inspiration behind several songs on the album, by sharing a screenshot of the track “So Long, London,” with a peace sign emoji on her Instagram Stories.

Pat McAfee

Sports analyst Pat McAfee, who has long been a champion of Taylor’s romance with Travis Kelce, tweeted that he was “so happy” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. “That had to be insanely dope to listen to the first time … YINZ ARE DOING GREAT,” he wrote.

John Stamos

Comments By Celebs captured a comment that John Stamos left on a post made by Josh Gad about the album. Josh’s post read, “Is there any man on planet Earth right now whose phone is blowing up more than Charlie Puth right now?” The post referenced a moment on the album where Taylor name-dropped the “See You Again” singer. John commented, “Kim K?” referencing the track “thanK you aIMee,” which many fans believe is about Kim Kardashian.

Ryan Seacrest

Ryan shared photos of himself and Taylor through the years on Instagram to celebrate the album’s release day. “Today should be an international holiday because #TTPD just dropped. Happy @taylorswift Release Day #thetorturedpoetsdepartment,” he captioned the post.
