Balloon-boy's dad: He's not a good guy, friends say

Heene944.jpg

When 6-year-old Falcon Heene was found hiding in his attic instead of trapped in a homemade hot-air balloon that had been released into the sky, the blame was placed on his dad, Richard Heene. Did he use his family to gain media attention for a reality show he's been working on? He and his wife, Mayumi, say no, but family acquaintances tell Life & Style that the father of three has always been more concerned with fame than the well-being of his family.

"I wasn't surprised at all when I found out about the balloon," Heene's former business partner, Perry Caravello, tells Life & Style. "He came up with this concoction to get attention -- he's a media whore."

Not only is Richard's main concern fame, but he's also an emotionally abusive father and husband, Caravello says.

"The guy could not be kind to anyone. He would blow up at people. [His wife] had no backbone. He'd scream and yell, and she would just take it and do whatever he would say like she was a slave. With the kids -- he's verbally abusive. He yells all the time."

Carrie Cavalier -- who was a former landlord to the Heene family -- had an experience with Richard that wasn't much different.

"The moment I saw what was going on, even before people were saying it was a hoax, I thought he must be thrilled with the attention," Cavalier tells Life & Style.

"He has no boundaries. He would take his kids out of school to do the storm chasing. You can't just do that, but he would. It's all about what he wants, not about what's best for his family."

"I think his wife is terrified," Cavalier says. "You would see her nodding and following him like a puppy -- it's very sad."

"I think the man is dangerous," she continues. "The kids live in fear; she lives in fear.
I hope they punish him."

Kim Kardashian: 'I want to be married and have a baby by next year'

944cover.jpgEver since her big sister Kourtney announced she was pregnant in August, rumors have been swirling that Kim Kardashian wants a baby too. Laughing off the false gossip, Kim finally set the record straight while speaking to Life & Style at her 29th birthday party, held at Las Vegas hot spot Tao on Oct. 16. Her response to all the baby buzz? Yes, she definitely wants to have one -- but, no, it's not happening tomorrow!

But if all goes according to plan, Kim will be pregnant by next October. "Family is the most important thing in my life," Kim tells Life & Style. "I always had a vision I'd be married with one kid by the time I'm 30." Not that Kim's likely to be waiting for a ring much longer. After dating for more than two years, Kim and boyfriend Reggie Bush, split in July but are now back together and working on their issues. "Before, I was strictly all about my work," Kim admits. "Now I make it a priority to go see him instead. It's all about the commitment you choose to make."

And with renewed faith in their relationship, Kim and Reggie are making moves toward their future. "Kim is selling her condo so she and Reggie can buy a home together in Los Angeles," her friend says. And the prospect of having a big house has Kim thinking about how she and Reggie will fill it. "I want a lot of kids," Kim tells Life & Style. "Maybe five or six. A mix of both boys and girls."

Trista: how I got my pre-baby body back

Trista.jpgFormer star of The Bachelorette Trista Sutter is the first to admit what every new mom knows: Taking off the baby weight is really hard work. And for Trista, who gained about 50 pounds before giving birth to her second child in April, getting back to her pre-pregnancy weight of 108 pounds was a major accomplishment.

"It was harder to lose weight this time around," Trista told Life & Style while showing off her new body on Sept. 22. "I gained 10 more pounds this time" with Blakesley, 6 months, than with Max, now 2.

To help her shed the pounds, Trista got a boost from six daily Abdominal Cuts supplements (pictured above), a complex of healthy oils that replaces bad fat, especially in the midsection. To learn more, check out http://www.revolutionlifestyle.com/!

Her therapeutic workouts

But it wasn't all work. Having the opportunity to exercise (which Trista started doing about 2½ months after her Caesarean section) is something Trista considers a good thing for her body -- and a way to relax her mind and get away from everyday stress. "I'm in mommy mode all day long, so to have an hour to myself four times a week to just
sweat it out is a little relief for me," Trista, 36, tells Life & Style.

And she doesn't even have to trek to the gym: Sometimes she meets her trainer, Brock Fetch, at her house. "My routine is a mix of cardio and interval resistance training," says Trista. With Fetch's help, Trista focuses on her core by doing moves like lunges while balancing on disks.

"For obvious reasons, my abs were the one area that didn't jump right back into position after I had Blakesley, so I'm still really focused on working on them and getting more toned," she says. "I want to put on even more lean muscle and replace the fatty tissue."
