Shakira Posts Makeup Free Selfie to Celebrate New Music Milestone
Congratulations are in order!
Shakira posted a makeup free selfie on Instagram to celebrate a very important career milestone — the video for her latest single “Chantaje” surpassed the record for the fastest Spanish-language music video to reach 100 million views, according to Billboard — the video just hit the mark for 200 million views.
In the shot, the 39-year-old’s bare skin glowed as she held up two fingers to symbolize the number two and she thanked her fans for helping her reach such an amazing feat.
“200 million views for 'Chantaje' in one month! Thank you all so, so much!” the mom-of-two wrote in the caption, then she translated it for her Spanish-speaking followers.
The Columbian singer's new single features heartthrob reggaetón artist Maluma. After the song was released in October, Maluma gushed over the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer and explained why he jumped at the chance to work with her.
"I was in Barcelona working with Shakira and it was an amazing experience," Maluma, 22, told Billboard at the time. "She's a great artist and I learned a lot while working with her."

Shakira recently returned to the spotlight after taking some time off to start a family. She shares three-year-old son Milan and one-year-old son Sasha with her longtime boyfriend, professional soccer star Gerard Piqué. But even though she’s focused on her career, the singer made it clear last month that her most important job is being a mommy to her two sons when she canceled two performances at the Latin Grammys and the American Music Awards due to little Sasha’s illness. But a week later, when Sasha was feeling better, she thanked her fans for understanding that motherhood comes first.
"Thanks for all the messages you sent for Sasha while he was sick. Everything is under control now, and he's back to his cheerful self!” Shakira wrote on Instagram at the time.
