Filming on the second season of Netflix‘s show 13 Reasons Why has come to a dramatic halt due to the raging California wildfires. The series, which is executive produced by Selena Gomez, was in production for its highly-anticipated next installment, but has been forced to take a break in the wake of the natural disaster that has devastated the region.

The fires affecting Northern California have put a stop to shooting in Vallejo, with 23 confirmed dead and more than 200 missing in the area. According to Deadline, the cast and crew hope to return to a normal schedule on Sunday, Oct. 15, once the flames have been contained.

Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay Jensen on the show, tweeted about the pain and grief many are experiencing as a result of the fast-moving fires. He said, “We film 13 Reasons Why in many of the areas in NorCal affected by these devastating fires. Sending love and thoughts to everyone involved.”

Devin Druid, who plays Tyler Down, echoed Dylan’s sentiments. He wrote, “The NorCal/Bay Area has been my home for almost a year while filming @13ReasonsWhy. My heart goes out to all affected by these awful fires.”

During Out magazine’s 25th anniversary celebration, presented by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Professor Marston & The Wonder Women, and TD Bank at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge at The Dream Downtown in NYC, Tommy Dorfman, who plays Ryan Shaver, exclusively opened up to Life & Style about the tragedy. “I think we’re more worried about the actual disaster than our production. Hopefully, we’re there to support in whatever way that we can and we’ll get the ball rolling.”
