Where Stephen Colbert goes… controversy follows!

The Late Show host is in hot water because of a “homophobic” joke he made about President Donald Trump on Monday night. The 52-year-old star used his opening monologue to fire insults at the current president.

“Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine,” Stephen said. “You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c–k holster.”

Yikes — of course it didn’t take long for the hashtag #FireColbert to pop up in the Twittersphere. Some viewers are calling the host homophobic, while others are urging people to boycott sponsors of the show.

Although some fans of the host don’t consider the comments to be controversial and are continuing to show their support for the show.

CBS has yet to formally address the recent controversy — but, it’s important to note that this is not Stephen’s first controversial incident. In 2014 — when he was hosting The Colbert Report on Comedy Central — he was accused of making racist remarks which also initiated a movement to remove him from the air.

During his time on the comedy show, the official Twitter account tweeted: “I am willing to show Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever.”

Whether or not he’ll respond to the current contention is still unclear, but if this controversy continues who knows what will become of his career.
