Don’t Expect Nick Lachey to Let His Wife Vanessa Win on ‘DWTS’ (EXCLUSIVE)
It's the battle of the spouses! Nick Lacey is going up against his wife Vanessa Lachey on the upcoming Season 25 of ABC's hit dance competition series Dancing With the Stars, but don't expect him to let her win. The 98 Degrees singer exclusively revealed to Life & Style what it's like to be going up against Vanessa for the Mirrorball trophy.
“We’re all competitive, but it definitely [adds] a little wrinkle knowing that you’re going against your
spouse,” Nick, 43, told Life & Style at Planet Hollywood in NYC. But even though he had some impressive moves during his days as a boy band member, he answered modestly when asked who has he better dance moves. “It’s her, 100 percent,” the "Give Me Just One Night" singer revealed.
Nick and Vanessa aren't the only married celebrity couple to compete on the show. Back in 2015, Spy Kids star Alexa PenaVega went up against her husband, former Big Time Rush star Chris PenaVega during Season 21 of the series. Alexa was eliminated in 7th place, while Carlos came in at 8th place in the competition.
Another married couple is going to be competing on Season 21 — Peta Murgatroyd, 31, and her husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 37. Peta and Maks tied the knot in a gorgeous fairytale wedding ceremony back in July, and to make things even more interesting, the couples are being paired up to face off against each other! Peta and Nick formed "Team Mom and Pops," while Vanessa and Maks formed "Team Babies and Ballroom" — with both team names paying homage to the fact that both couples are parents.
When Nick was asked if he would give his wife a peek at what to expect on the dance floor, he said, “Heck no!” — but it looks like he's going to have to be a little more careful about practicing his dance moves around the house. “I did catch him doing a couple routines," Vanessa confessed.
