11 Celebs Who Had the Perfect Relationship — Until They Were Accused of Alleged Abuse

Celebrity couples always look like they have the perfect relationship, but once divorce papers are filed, allegations of domestic abuse often start to bubble to the surface. In fact, it happens so often, it’s starting to become a broken record in Hollywood. But after the divorces are settled and the restraining orders are long forgotten about, the stars accused of doing the abuse, from physical violence to forced imprisonment, usually continue to have successful careers.

Just look at Mel Gibson and his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. You’ve probably long forgotten about their explosive separation as it happened seven years ago, which is like an eternity in Internet time. Back in 2010, Oksana filed a restraining order against the 61-year-old actor, alleging that he punched her in the face and assaulted her while she was holding their child. But things got extra rocky when audio tapes of the actor verbally abusing his girlfriend surfaced. On the tapes, he went on long profanity-laden tirades to Oksana, calling her a b—h, a c–t, and even threatened to put her “in a f–king rose garden.” He went on to say, “I deserve to be blown… I’ll burn the g—–n house down, but blow me first!”

Unfortunately for Oksana, the release of the tapes, as well as an interview on The Howard Stern Show, ended up costing her the $15 million she was supposed to be rewarded from their settlement. In the end, she only received $250,000. And as for Mel, his career didn’t exactly go down the toilet either. His 2016 film Hacksaw Ridge was nominated for two Academy Awards, and he currently has four more films in production for 2017. In 2016, when Stephen Colbert asked him if he had any regrets, he said, “Not one.” Really, Mel?
