When it comes to private celebrity couples, Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova are at the top of the list. However, her $2.5 million engagement ring is a very public display of love for the pair. Seriously, how have we never noticed that rock?
The couple just secretly welcomed twins Nicholas and Lucy, thrusting Enrique, 42, and Anna, 36, back into the spotlight. So it’s no surprise fans are talking about her 11-carat canary sparkler, which she received from the Spanish singer back in 2009. However, this is not a sign that the couple is ready to walk down the aisle — or that it’s even an engagement ring at all. Watch the video below to see the sparkler up close!
“I’ve never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper,” he told Parade magazine. “And nowadays, it’s not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you’re a good parent, period.”
Enrique met the tennis pro in 2001 on the set of his steamy music video for “Escape” where she played his love interest. And while marriage is not on his radar with the blonde beauty, he has always made it clear he wanted kids. “I’ve said in many of my interviews that I don’t think [marriage] will make me any happier, and I’m not against it by any means,” he told Access Hollywood. “Hopefully the day I have kids I’ll just lay back a bit and not travel as much and be touring constantly. I don’t want to be on the road for six months, eight months, come back and not recognize my own child.”
