Liz Lemon and her band of crazy television producers, writers, and stars won over our hearts when the show within a show, The Girlie Show With Tracy Jordan, first premiered in 2006. Now that it’s been over five years since the beloved 30 Rock aired its final episode, fans of the series are experiencing major nostalgia thinking about where Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer, Alec Baldwin, and Jane Krakowski are now.
30 Rock — which followed head writer Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) as she dealt with a selfish new boss and an out-of-control star, all while managing the NBC page program — survived 11 years of running. The show saw guest stars like Jon Hamm, Salma Hayek, Lester Holt, Jimmy Fallon, Al Roker, and more.
But what fans of the series remember most, of course, is the stand-out characters, Liz, Tracy Jordan, Kenneth Parcell, Jack Donaghy, Maroney, and more. And when it came time for the story of these characters to end, 47-year-old Tina Fey felt positive about how far the story had come.
“I feel good,” Tina told TV Guide. “All things must come to an end, and I’ll be heartbroken to leave all these people, but it was time and the right thing to do. We’ve told the whole story.”
“I feel like we made a lot of good episodes of the kind of show that usually gets cancelled,” Tina has said. “The kind where there’s 20 episodes and ‘only me and my hipster friends know about it.’ That part’s still true. But we made about 140 of them!”
