Sean Lowe found his happily ever after with Catherine Giudici, but not without a lot of heartbreak.

The former Bachelor revealed he was left devastated after Bachelorette Emily Maynard kicked him off her season – even more so after she refused to take his calls after the fact.

“I go back to Dallas and I’m still heartbroken,” he recalls. “I’m still thinking about her all the time. I found her number through a mutual friend that we had.

“I call her and I’m just trying to get answers as to why this happened. I just got her voicemail and never received a return phone call.”

Ouch.

As Bachelorette fans are aware, the mother-of-one chose Jef Holm and Arie Luyendyk, Jr. over Sean going into the finale in July 2012.

Jef ended up proposing, but the duo called off their engagement.

Admitting he initially signed up for the show for a “free vacation,” Sean began having strong feelings for the blonde beauty.

“After about four or five weeks of getting to spend time with the Bachelorette, I thought I liked being around her,” he says in a new short film released on iamsecond.com today.

“I can see myself being her husband, and she had a young daughter (Ricki) and I thought, wow, God has used this reality TV show to introduce me to my wife and to my future daughter.”

He added, “After about six weeks of being on the show, I knew I loved her.”

Luckily, as fate would have it, ABC called him up with the idea of being the next Bachelor.

Hesitant at first, Sean admits it was his parents who urged him to take the leap of faith.

Now, nearly two years later, he’s happily married to the love of his life, Catherine, whom he proposed to on the season finale last year.

“I’ve always said that I want to marry my best friend,” he says. “Catherine is just that. She was the one that I just couldn’t see myself saying goodbye to – ever.”
