"Food’s not the problem, it’s society. We’re all hating on so much things, but we should just be, you know, accepting our natural size.”

"What about a size 8 model? There are so many people who are a size 8, and there are no size 8 models! I want people to say, 'Look at Leah Kelley! She looks great!' Models aren’t mannequins. [Brands] should choose us for our personality, too. I’ve heard that I’m not "plus enough." I’m tall, so my size 12 is stretched out, but it is my size, it is considered plus-size and I have no qualms about that."

She started the "Say No to Size 0" campaign. Its goal was to “ban all size zero models and models with an unhealthy BMI (below 18.5) from the fashion catwalks.”

"The term 'plus size' is outdated. To get rid of the term 'plus' would be a step in the right direction. Ideally there would be no division–it would just be models are models and we'd be on the same board as girls who are size two. We want to be looked as just as talented and worthwhile as these other women. These terms just make my skin crawl."

"[…] my advice to any girl/woman is to be YOU. Find your natural size where your body plateaus whether that is a size 0, 12, 22, apple shape, pear shape, hourglass, or whatever and rock that. The most beautiful, attractive, and intriguing women that I have met in my life so far, may not necessarily have met the fashion industry’s criteria on what beauty is but they were comfortable in their own skin and for that I admire them."

"First of all, don't put yourself down if you're hung up on the way you look, because our culture really values that, and there's nothing wrong with it. But if it's affecting the way you feel about yourself, think of what you love more than anything in the world, and go after it. I really believe that if you're being the person you want to be, you'll care less about looking like the person everybody says you should look like."
