Be still, our '90s hearts!
The Disney Channel is reportedly in the early stages of developing a Boy Meets World series sequel, titled Girl Meets World, according to TVLine.com
The show’s original stars Ben Savage, 32, and Danielle Fishel, 31, are allegedly in early talks to reprise their famous roles. The duo played sweethearts Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, respectively, from 1993 to 2000.
As the show neared the end of its seven-season run, their characters tied the knot.
So what’s with the whole “Girl” in the title? For all you fans (like us!) out there, get ready for this: The new series would pick up several years later and center on Cory and Topanga’s preteen daughter.
Though it has yet to be confirmed, Danielle pretty much revealed it’s happening.
“Just want you guys to know that @BenSavage and I have talked and we’ve decided…Thanksgiving is going to be delicious this year!” she tweeted on Nov. 3.
Since the show’s end, Ben and Danielle, who also dated off screen for a brief time, have kept quite busy.
The 32-year-old actor played guest-starring roles on shows such as Chuck, Without A Trace and Bones. He also attended Stanford University and graduated with a degree in Political Science in 2004.
Danielle starred in National Lampoon Presents Dorm Daze in 2003 and its sequel, Dorm Daze 2, in 2006. She also went on to host Style Network’s The Dish from 2008 to 2011 and hosted Fuse Networks’ The Fuse 20 in 2009.
If this ever comes to fruition and we get to see a reunion between Cory and Topanga on a weekly basis, we’ll be tuning into The Disney Channel!
