Amanda Bynes won’t be attending court anytime soon.
TMZ reports that the former child star is “mentally unfit to stand trial” – this according to her lawyer in her DUI case.
The actress was due to appear in court today for her DUI arrest in West Hollywood in April 2012, but her lawyer, Rich Hutton, told the judge that his client was unable to due to her mental state.

TMZ claims he said that Amanda “did not have the mental capacity to understand the nature of the legal proceedings.”
The judge reportedly understood and transferred the matter to the mental health court. The judge in that setting will determine Amanda’s mental stability.
It hasn’t been an easy year for the troubled starlet. In May, she was arrested after allegedly throwing a bong out of the window of her NYC apartment building. Two months later, she was placed under a 5150 mental hold for starting a fire in the driveway of someone’s home in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

On Aug. 9, Amanda’s mom, Lynn Organ, was made a temporary conservator. Days later, she had her daughter transferred to UCLA hospital to continue psychiatric evaluation.
It’s being reported that the 27-year-old suffers from schizophrenia.
