REPORTAmanda Bynes Could Be Headed Back to Nickelodeon Following Her Breakdown

Although she’s largely remained out of the spotlight following her public breakdown, a new report claims Nickelodeon wants former child star Amanda Bynes back on television!

A source told Page Six that producers have been “trying to reach” Amanda about a possible show. “[They want to] work with her again in a positive and healthy way. She has a tremendous amount of talent,” the insider shared.

The 31-year-old, who just finished her second year at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Orange County, first appeared on the network at age 10 on the sketch comedy show All That. After a successful run, she scored her own program, The Amanda Show, which aired for four seasons.

Amanda transitioned to more adult roles with The WB series What I Like About You, but reached A-list status with her hilarious turn in the 2006 comedy She’s the Man. Her last film role was alongside Emma Stone in 2010’s Easy A.

Unfortunately, in 2012, the California native received a DUI after side-swiping a police car. That arrest prompted a downhill spiral that included multiple traffic violations, getting busted for marijuana, and a psychiatric evaluation. In 2014, she was placed under a temporary psychiatric hold after claiming that her father had sexually abused her and implanted a microchip into her brain.

Since then, Amanda has occasionally popped up on social media. Her Twitter was last updated in February when she claimed that another account was impersonating her.

In March, a friend of Amanda’s told Life & Style that the actress is trying her best to keep a low profile. “The one thing that Amanda can’t stand is when people take her picture,” the pal revealed. “Once I was with her at a Chinese restaurant after class and we were like, ‘Let’s all take a picture together!’ She was like, ‘No, I’ll take a picture of you guys. I don’t want my picture online.’”

Although a rep for Nickelodeon didn’t comment on Page Six‘s report, another source said, “We love Amanda, but it’s not true.”
