No A-list treatment for Teen Mom star Amber Portwood! The 20-year-old was treated like any other orange-and-white stripe clad inmate when she checked into the Madison County Sheriff's Department & Detention Center in Anderson, Ind., on Dec. 27, her cell mate Carol Thomas tells Life & Style exclusively.
"Amber was very friendly," Carol, 36, who was in jail for failing to appear in court regarding a harassment-and-custody issue, tells Life & Style. "We basically had to look at each other, sleep or talk the whole time."
Besides, Amber was simply too nervous to eat. Out of three meals, she managed to consume a bite of chicken noodles, a piece of toast, the crust of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and celery with peanut butter. Luckily, Carol had the reality star's back in the small quarters they shared with three others. The duo curled up on the same mat during a two-hour nap and even shielded each other when using the cell's exposed toilet. "There's a wall on either side of the toilet, but the front is open, so anybody can see you," Carol explains. "Amber used it a few times throughout the night, and I held up a blanket for her so no one would watch."
