During the last two weeks of American Idol, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj appear to be getting along.
On last night’s episode, Ryan Seacrest asked the duo what a duet between them would sound like. Surprisingly, both superstars went along with the joke.
Later on in the show, another noteworthy moment happened when mentor Jimmy Iovine was brought onstage and all the judges ganged up on him regarding his comments about them. Keith Urban and Randy Jackson laughed — as did Nicki and Mariah.

Many people were baffled by the pair’s seemingly united front, including hopeful Candice Glover.
“Yeah, they were getting along,” the 23-year-old told Life & Style after the show. “I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.”
Ever since they butted heads during the audition rounds, the two divas have made sure to pretty much ignore each other. That all changed last week when Nicki commended Candice’s performance of Mariah and the late Whitney Houston’s hit, “When You Believe.”
“That is how you do a Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston song,” she told the hopeful. She even revealed she used to cry listening to that song as a little girl because she believed every word Mariah was singing.

But, of course, it wasn’t all smiles for the pair on that episode. Nicki and Mariah came to slight blows when they disagreed on Kree Harrison’s performance — which ended with Nicki telling the legendary songstress to “Simmer down, sir.”
