Q: You've been busy, making a TV movie for Fox that aired in January. What a surprise that was?
A: Acting is one of the doors that opens after Idol; I just never thought I would walk through it, but I'm glad I did. I've been bitten by the bug and want to do more.
Q: What's you greatest post-Idol achievement?
A: There's no one thing, but I'm really proud of the record I made. I felt
I was completely true to myself. The acting thing is a new way to express myself artistically. I'm not throwing out music for acting, I'm throwing it into my bag of tricks as well.
Q: What's happening personally?
A: I'm still married, all is great -- but no kids yet. Motherhood is something I'm definitely look forward to. I'm going to keep making music, and I'll make some people too and be a mom when the time is right. I've always had the full maternal streak.
Q: Have you had any unusual fan encounters?
A: I have regulars I hear from every day -- if I stopped hearing from them I'd worry what happened to them. Most people are really cool. Once I tweeted I was in some tiny airport, thinking no one would have heard of it, and this guy runs up saying; "I got your Twitter that you're here." He was nice, but it opened my eyes to the fact you have to be careful out there.
Q: What's next for you?
A: I want to finish this record. I have 20 songs ready to narrow down, so I'm deep in the creative process. There's going to be an evolution on this next one and be Brooke with some tweaking.
