Q: Congratulations, Rock of Ages is still rocking for you?
A: Yeah, we've kicked a lot of butt, and it's been a great ride and a blessing. We're having an awesome time, and I'm well into my second year with the show. Taking it from a little off-Broadway theater to a huge Broadway theater, the Tony Awards and now touring it is pretty awesome.
Q: What was your most memorable Idol moment?
A: I was a little older and had been in the game a little, so I could just enjoy the whole experience. I loved working with those great people. Getting to compete against Carrie Underwood -- it was a great learning experience and life experience.
Q: Were there any behind-the-scenes fights you recall?
A: I was doing my own thing and sneaking out to Hollywood. Maybe down the road on the tour there was some friction, but at the end of the day, you wished everyone the best, and it was more about your path and what you did next. Some of those people were the nicest people.
Q: Are you still in contact with anyone from Idol?
A: Bo [Bice] and I have a bond and will always be friends. We went through a lot together. He's the kind of guy I can call anytime and he'll be there. A great guy and super talented. But some of the people behind the scenes are my best friends.
Q: What's next for you?
A: I do have a new album in the works, and Rock Of Ages has gotten a lot of people interested in hearing more of me. I've been working on a new album and hope to have something out by years end. I want to continue doing good work.
