Q: Congrats on the new American Idiot gig?
A: Thank you, I feel really fortunate. To go from one Broadway show to another, especially when shows are closing and new shows have set casts, is a real blessing. And on top of that to be in such a great show is a smash! I also have some concert dates in the summer, but right now I'm wrapping my head around the baby; I'll get time off for the baby as family comes first.
Q: What's yourt greatest post-Idol achievement?
A: My upcoming baby, it's one of my LIFE achievements. Being able to bring another person into the world is awesome! I got married a year last September, but my wife and I have known each other since we were 18 -- it's crazy. I can't wait to have my baby.
Q: Is there one Idol moment you wish you could do over?
A: I think I'd do over one outfit -- a horrible gold shirt I wore with these red pants -- I looked like a bad couch from the '70s. There isn't much else I would do over.
Q: What goes through your mind when you reflect about your time on Idol?
A: Just how crazy it was. It was nonstop work, and I look back at how much I grew. There was so much triumph and tragedy, and all of that made me who I am, and I am really proud.
