There’s a reason to celebrate in the Schumer family! Amy Schumer recently shared a touching video to Instagram of her dad, Gordon, standing for the first time in years. The comedian has been open in the past about the fact that her father suffers from multiple sclerosis which makes him dependent on a wheelchair in order to get around. Watch the video below to see Amy’s dad walking!

What a moving video! We’re so happy that Amy’s dad was able to get this stem-cell care which has helped his life in such a real way. And the actress’ fans were also incredibly supportive of her on social media. “You are a great daughter. The love you show your dad is so touching iv got tears in my eyes. Keep it up daddy we love your Instagram posts,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Life is so tough. It’s amazing how the small (yet major) victories keep us going and make us feel so blessed to experience. Bravo to your Dad. And bravo to you for being so lovely and wonderful for him…and us.”

“Some days, he’s really good and he’s with it and we’re joking,” Amy explained in a previous interview. “And some days I go to visit my dad and it’s so painful. I can’t believe it. In terms of my dad being sick, it was just confusing to me, especially the way MS works. He was in physical pain. That’s when I kind of took the lead and took care of everybody in my family. I would keep them — I would keep everybody laughing.”
