It’s been over a month since beloved Hollywood couple Anna Faris and Chris Pratt announced their breakup, and even though the duo has called it quits, Chris clearly still has love for his ex. Over the weekend, Anna made her first public appearance since the separation at the 2017 Emmys, and though her estranged spouse wasn’t there, he had nothing but nice things to say about her.

Anna took to the stage with Mom co-star Allison Janey, and their segment was absolutely hilarious. While talking to TMZ, Chris sang his ex’s praises. “I know she did great,” he said. “Anna did an amazing job, man. She rules. Her and Allison, they both looked great. Go watch Mom on CBS.”

It’s clear there’s no bad blood between these two, so fans have been struggling to accept their decision to call it quits. Sources tell Life & Style that the blonde beauty was starting to feel like a single mother to the duo’s five-year-old son, Jack.

“It’s been very intense, with Anna discussing how she feels isolated with Chris gone so much of the time and her career taking a backseat,” an insider reveals. “Chris gets frustrated because Anna is in the industry, too, and knew the commitments involved when she married him.”

Though they announced the separation publicly, the pair has started couples counseling as a last-ditch effort to salvage their relationship. “Chris was reluctant because he was always so busy working. And he just didn’t believe he needed it,” the insider shares. “It’s the first time they’ve ever been in counseling together and it only happened after they split. They have committed to it.”

Friends and family are still holding out hope that the twosome will reconcile. They literally left fans heartbroken after releasing a statement on Aug. 6. “We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” they said at the time. “We still love each other and will always cherish our time together.”

In an episode of her podcast, Unqualified, which aired shortly after the split, the 40-year-old seemingly took a dig at her estranged hubby while offering advice to a listener. “Life is too short to be in relationships where you feel this isn’t fully right or somebody doesn’t have your back, or somebody doesn’t fully value you. Don’t be afraid to feel your independence if things aren’t right,” she shared. “I made that mistake, I think, a little bit, like ‘I’m checking my relationship off the list’ and if that would be the final piece of advice I could give you, that would be know your worth, know your independence.”
