Anne Burrell Reveals Her “Most Important” Weight Loss Secret (EXCLUSIVE)

Celebrity chef Anne Burrell is heating up the kitchen with her weight loss in 2017! The Food Network star is still rocking her signature bleach blonde hairdo but is looking slimmer and healthier than ever — and she just exclusively told Life & Style what she’s doing to shed the pounds. You’re going to want to take notes for this one!

Life & Style spoke with Anne via phone on Tuesday as she was promoting her latest project with Cheetos — a Cheetos pop-up, called The Spotted Cheetah, in NYC. “I’ve really changed the way I eat — and one of the most important things that I did was make sure I eat breakfast every day, which I eat like Greek yogurt, berries, that’s my go-to breakfast. It’s quick, it’s easy, it starts your metabolism, and it’s just really good for you — and then I always make sure that I have snacks or something with me so I don’t get to that ‘hangry’ point, and then just start eating anything because I’m starving. I always carry some almonds or some sort of bar.”

The 47-year-old co-host of Worst Cooks in America recently shared a photo alongside fellow chef Rachael Ray, and her fans couldn’t help but gush about her transformation. While her co-star looks rather impressive herself, Anne told us that they have not been swapping weight loss tips behind the scenes.

“We always are talking food if not eating it — it was a totally individual thing. That cracks me up because when we are together we DEFINITELY eat and drink!” she quipped.

While Anne has been flaunting her weight loss on social media, even posing in a bikini, we can’t imagine shedding the pounds was easy for the food lover. In the past she admitted to being obsessed with Italian food — and told AOL she would choose “pasta” as the food she would eat for the rest of her life.

“Bucatini all’amatriciana. Bucatini is a dried pasta but it’s thick, chewy pasta, and then the tomato sauce is spicy, with lots of onion and guanciale, which is beautiful cured pork. I could just plant my face in that and eat it forever. That to me is like — when you say comfort food, that is what I want,” she said.

However, we have a feeling Anne knows how to make healthy and delicious meals, as she revealed in 2013, “We have to get creative and do the very best we can to make something healthy that doesn’t taste like cardboard. Start off with fresh ingredients, and don’t be afraid of big-flavored stuff. When you’re cooking from scratch, you can use salt freely and you don’t get anywhere near what’s in processed and canned items.”

She continued, “Use things like vinegar, spices, and spicy stuff — all of those things have big flavors. And make sure you taste your food. Food should taste good, and if it doesn’t, there’s something wrong.”
