They’re ready to face the world together! Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham may have caused a lot of controversy on the Bachelor finale on March 6, but they both seem way too in love to care. March 7 was the first time that the couple was allowed to go out together in public, and they made the most of it with a romantic date night. Life & Style has the inside scoop on their over-the-top dinner at Megu in NYC!

Lauren shared a few clips of the delicious-looking food at the Japanese hot spot, and if you noticed that the couple seemed to be the only ones there, well, you’re right. “They reserved a private table at the restaurant,” explained the Megu insider. Clearly they weren’t totally ready to deal with the backlash from fans, even if they’re technically allowed to be in public together.

Despite the drama, “they were in great spirits and looked so in love,” said the eyewitness. The pair got the royal treatment at the restaurant, too! “They got a private tour of Megu’s kitchen and posed for photos with the chef,” they continued. Sounds like a magical first (real) date, if you ask us!

Lauren seems determined to ignore the haters and focus only on the good things that came out of her Bachelor experience. She snapped a photo of a neon “love is love” sign in the restaurant, and captioned her first photo with Arie, “it’s all worth it, because I have you. #TeamLarie.” At least something good came out of the drama because they seem head over heels for each other. Good luck, guys.
