Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum Disagree About Sex on ‘Marriage Boot Camp’

Bachelorette couple Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum clashed heads about their sex life on this week’s episode of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. The parents-of-two were extremely uncomfortable opening up about intimacy during a couple’s therapy drill.
“We’re both pretty private people when it comes to sex, we speak openly about it with each other,” J.P. said in his confessional, but Ashley said J.P. is more private about it than she is.

They explained that as new parents, their sex life is strained since they have a toddler — two-year-old son Fordham Rhys. Shortly after filming the WEtv series, J.P. and Ashley welcomed their second child, three-month-old daughter Essex Reese.
When the couple tries to initiate intimacy, Ashley said they use the code word “Do you want to take a nap?” But she says she often feels rushed whenever they try to have alone time. They also revealed that they haven’t had regular date nights since welcoming their first child, and the therapists stressed that they should make it a priority in their relationship.
Ashley suggested that they schedule date nights once a month, but they settled on once every other week so that they could build up to once a week.
“Don’t fall into the complacency trap,” relationship expert Dr. Venus Nicolino said. “Couples that ignore consistently building intimacy face the slow but inevitable death of their marriage.”

Ashley and J.P. met on Season 7 of The Bachelorette, and they tied the knot in December 2012. They couple recently celebrated their fourth anniversary and J.P. posted a sweet tribute to his wife on Instagram.
“#HappyAnniversary to the absolute love of my life [Ashley],” he wrote in the caption, and added the hashtag “#HappilyEverAfter.”
