"My wife came to this country on a refugee visa in the middle of the Cold War! My blood is boiling right now," he wrote. "As an American I respect my president but I do not respect this policy."

The father-of-two continued, "If standing for the America that doesn't discriminate makes me a left wing actor who is out of touch. Fuck it. We have never been a nation built on fear. Compassion that is the root ethic of America. Our differences are fundamental 2R sustainability."

Ashton, 38, continued to speak out against the unconstitutional immigration order at the SAG Awards Sunday night, opening the show with a pointed message to the new President.

“Good evening, fellow SAG-AFTRA members, and everyone at home, and everyone in airports that belong in my America,” he said. “You are a part of the fabric of who we are. And we love you and we welcome you.”

"My parents went through hell and back," she told Glamour. "They came to America with suitcases and a family of seven and $250, and that's it. My parents, for years, worked full-time and went to college full-time."

She continued, "I'm not going to blow this country up. I'm clearly paying taxes. I'm not taking anything away," she said. "So the fact that people look at what's happening and are like, 'Pfft, they're going to blow s--t up?' It saddens me how much fear we've instilled in ourselves."
