She might be known for her punk rock exterior, but Avril Lavigne couldn't hold back tears while opening up about her battle with Lyme disease.
The 30-year-old appeared on Good Morning America earlier today, June 29, where she gave heartbreaking details about what she referred to as "the worst time of my life."

"I literally became bedridden last October,” she said, adding that she had trouble getting a proper diagnosis for her disease. “They would pull up their computer and be like, ‘Chronic fatigue syndrome.’ Or, ‘Why don’t you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?’ It’s like, ‘Are you depressed?’”
Thankfully now, the singer is expected to make a 100-percent recovery and is looking forward to putting this difficult time in her life in the past.
“I’m about halfway through my treatment,” she said. “I’m doing a lot better. Seeing a lot of progress. I’m just really grateful. I’m so excited for life after this.”
