Aaron Carter would like everyone to stop making jokes about his obsession with his ex-girlfriend, Hilary Duff.

The singer, 26, recently shared a rather creepy photo of himself watching an episode of ‘Lizzie McGuire’ in which he guest starred, captioning the picture, “Merry Christmas Lizzie McGuire. #IWantCandy #AaronCarter #Flashback.”

But he wasn’t ready for the backlash. After being referred to as “creepy” and a “stalker,” the 26-year-old defended himself on Twitter.

“It’s not my fault that @DisneyChannel was playing my episode of Lizzie McGuire while I had some time to watch TV the other night,” he said. “All of these jokes aren’t funny anymore. Let it go because it’s starting to creep ME out now.”

This isn’t the first time Aaron’s publicly declared his love for his ex-girlfriend. This past March, he announced on Twitter that he had a strong desire to reconnect with his former flame.

“Don’t be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me… I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don’t care what ANY of you think,” he wrote.

But Hilary, 27, who separated from her husband Mike Comrie earlier this year, doesn’t appear to share the same feelings.

“Ugh! I don’t know. I don’t know what to say about it! It was so many years ago,” she said during an interview with Andy Cohen. “I literally haven’t seen him in… so, it’s uncomfortable.”
