<p><span></span>As if we needed another reason to love <a href="http://dynamic.bauerpublishing.com/mt-search.fcgi?blog_id=2&tag=brad pitt&limit=20&IncludeBlogs=2"><strong>Brad Pitt</strong></a>, it turns out he's a really great brother!</p>
When Brad's sister, Julie, asked her little bro to help out with her fund-raising drive, he didn't just sign a baseball for her to auction, he also went to the trouble of getting it signed by his new pal Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics, whom Brad played in Moneyball.
"My sweet brother signed a baseball and asked Billy Beane to sign it for me so
I can raise money for Dig Deep," Julie wrote on her blog.
And when the eBay auction closed on Dec. 18, the ball had been snapped up for a whopping $700!
Dig Deep -- part of the Glimmer of Hope organization -- is a project that aims to supply clean drinking water in Ethiopia.
Brad and his partner, Angelina Jolie, are both big supporters of charity. In 2009, through his charity "Make It Right," Brad raised more than $24 million to help survivors of Hurricane Katrina secure mortgages for new homes. A year later, he raised an additional $20 million for the same cause.
"I feel like I have to share whatever I can," Brad has said of being able to help fund charities. "You're culpable if you don't act."
