Ben & Jerry’s Is Now Making a “Healthy” Ice Cream — and We Think We’re Ready to Diet
It’s not too late to jump-start your New Year’s resolutions — while still eating ice cream! Ben & Jerry’s just announced that they would be releasing a line of light ice cream flavors, and TBH, they look pretty amazing. Following in the footsteps of the popular creamery Halo Top, Ben & Jerry’s launched a new line called Moo-Phoria that features three new flavors: Chocolate Milk and Cookies, Caramel Cookie Fix, and P.B. Dough.
Now only 140 to 160 calories per serving, depending on the flavor, these dessert options contain less fat and sugar than regular Ben & Jerry’s flavors. Though they had to remove some of the cream from the recipe — reducing the fat by about 60 percent — they have not skimped out on the classic mix-ins! Caramel Cookie Fix has bites of shortbread cookies and swirls of caramel. P.B. Dough has a chocolate ice cream base with peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough. And Chocolate Milk and Cookies has a mix of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with cookie chunks throughout.
While it’s definitely a healthier option in comparison to a regular Ben & Jerry’s pint, it's a little more calorie-filled than other healthy ice creams. These pints sit at around 600 calories for the whole thing, while other brands have about half that number. But, considering a full pint of Ben & Jerry’s has more than 1,000 calories, we think this is a great alternative! Alright, our mouths are officially watering — who’s ready to try some?!
