A Definitive Ranking of the Best Celebrity Couples on Instagram (There’s Math Involved, Guys)

Every time our favorite celebrity couples post pictures on Instagram, we feel like we’ve been given a gift — but some of our #relationshipgoals role models are kind of stingy with the presents. Obviously, habits differ couple to couple — some people are constantly ‘gramming pics with bae, while others are more camera shy — but when it comes time to actually pick our favorite celebrity duo, it can get a little tricky.

Luckily, we sat down, did the math, and figured out who the best celebrity couple is on Instagram. You’re welcome.

Breaking Down the Method and the Data

We went through all the pictures couples have posted over the past month — photos together got a full point, pics of each other got a half-point, and that one rare instance where Nick Lachey posted about digging through the trash to find his wife’s ring also got him a half-point. Using our point system, we were able to calculate what percentage of each couple’s content was focused on their relationship.

Victoria and David Beckham

TBH, we expected better from this celeb duo. They’re obviously still in love — and they just posted some amazing throwback photos to celebrate their 18th anniversary — but with 4.5 points out of a possible 58, they scored a measly 7.75%. Guess their Instagram priorities are elsewhere.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

These two don’t post all that often. Over the past month, they’ve shared 18 total IG pics. So it makes sense that they only scored 2.5 points — but considering that translates to 13.89%, they still managed to come in fourth place. Let’s be real, though — these two deserve it. They’ve done lots of adorable things for each other over the years (like get a sloth to visit for a certain someone’s birthday).

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson

Khloé supposedly moved in with her new boyfriend last fall, but for two people who live together, they certainly don’t post a lot of photos… especially considering so much of Khloé’s career is based on living in the spotlight. Between their 30 photos, they only scored 4 points, landing them a percentage of 13.34%.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez

JLo and ARod posted a lot over the last month — but with only 10 points out of a possible 77, they scored 12.99% and came in at a comfortable sixth place. We will say this, though: these two are obviously super serious about being a family, and we love how many pics include the kids.

Vanessa Grimaldi and Nick Viall

Over the past month, this couple shared eight couple posts out of a total 22 uploads. They even got bonus points for not repeating any pictures across accounts — both Nick and Vanessa uploaded their own version of each ‘gram instead of sharing. We’ve heard a lot of rumors about what’s going on behind the scenes, but in front of the camera these two are putting on a great front. Their 36.36% landed them firmly in first place.

JWoww and Roger Matthews

Between the two of them, the reality TV couple shared a record 132 uploads. That’s wild! And with 25.5 points, giving them 19.32%, they scored the #3 slot for themselves. But, to be fair to everyone else — almost all of their uploads were video clips from their show Jenni & Roger: Domesticated. So they kind of have an advantage. Still, the math doesn’t lie.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

For a couple that used to be everywhere, these two have been pretty quiet lately. Heidi’s only posted six Instas in the last month, Spencer’s only posted three, and only one features the two as a couple for one out of nine possible points, or 11.11%. But their one picture does feature Heidi’s pregnant belly and the soon-to-come Speidi baby, so we’re still obsessed.

Vanessa and Nick Lachey

Out of 20 posts, the pair earned five points — and, of course, there was the trash ring thing. It’s not a lot of posts, but it is a pretty impressive ratio at 25%. With a clean quarter of their pics focusing on them as a couple, they scored second place on this list.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Kanye deleted his Instagram back in May, but Kim carried the team with 70 Instagram posts over the last month. But of those 70, just four featured the couple — 5.72%. They were cute and all, but it seems like Kim’s got more interest in her new makeup line than she does in her husband.

Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian

Rob and Chyna are famously on-again, off-again — but it seems like they’re going to be permanently off after yesterday’s Instagram fiasco. We wish we could give Rob’s IG negative one million points for what he did, but since his account was shut down and Chyna’s only shared one pic of them in the past month — for a total of one point and a dismal 1.62% — we’ll settle with letting them come in dead last.
